We would like to welcome to Oakhurst the newest green summer camp for Decatur and Atlanta kids! Camp Scene is a new summer day camp with a mission: fostering nature appreciation and teaching about environmental issues through adventure.

Atlanta BeltLine reaches almost 50% land ownership with new purchase from Georgia DOT!

Great news from the Atlanta BeltLine this week! Atlanta’s ambitious project to ring Atlanta with 22 miles of transit, 33 miles of trails, and an “emerald necklace” of parks has taken another leap forward. The Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. has arranged to purchase almost 4 miles of right-of-way (ROW) of abandonded rail corridor from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) this week.

As a way to say thanks to Atlanta’s eco-friendly citizens, WSB-TV and the Trust for Public Land are teaming up to recognize green leaders in our community! After nominations and public voting, one winner will be awarded $5,000 to donate to the environmental nonprofit of his or her choice.
