“Beyond Bricks and Sticks” showcases Atlanta as the city with the most LEED certified eco-friendly buildings

Through this Friday, January 15, 2010, the Museum of Design Atlanta will be staging a traveling exhibition that showcases Atlanta as the city with the most LEED certified eco-friendly buildings. “Beyond Bricks and Sticks” is sponsored by the Kendeda Fund and will be traveling throughout Atlanta to such locations such as the World of Coke Museum, the Woodruff Arts Center, the CNN center, and the Cobb Galleria.

DeKalb County awarded “Green Community” designation by the Atlanta Regional Commission!

The Atlanta Regional Commission recognized DeKalb County in metro Atlanta as a Green Community, based on environmental strides made in ten different categories. This included LEED-certified buildings, a local landfill’s conversion of methane gas to electricity, and more!

The Brookwood in Buckhead: Atlanta’s first high-rise condo complex to earn LEED certification

The Brookwood, a recently-completed high rise community located just South of Piedmont Hospital, is contributing to the Atlanta community in many ways through its green standards. In fact, it’s slated to be Atlanta’s first residential high-rise to receive LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
